All PhD students are supervised by two leading experts in the field and will research alongside an academic community of more than 200 experts. When you join Birmingham Business School, you will have access to research communities and resources across the entire Business School and beyond. You will also be supported by the University of Birmingham Doctoral School and study at our beautiful, green campus in Edgbaston with historic and modern spaces, just a short train ride from Birmingham city centre.

Call for Entries: 2026 Einstein Foundation Award for Promoting Quality in Research
The annual €350,000 Einstein Foundation Award for Promoting Quality in Research in cooperation with the QUEST Center for Responsible Research at the Berlin Institute of Health at Charité (BIH) is inviting applications and nominations.
The international award is open to any researcher, or group of researchers, institution and organization around the globe whose work helps to fundamentally advance the quality, transparency, and reproducibility of science and research in all disciplines
The deadline for entries is April 30, 2026 (10:00 pm UTC). The awardees will be announced by the end of 2026.
The award recognizes successful candidates in the following three categories:
Individual Award (€150,000): Individuals or small teams making a profound impact on research quality are eligible for self-nomination or nomination by others.
Institutional Award (€100,000): Organizations, large collaborative networks, or other entities that make an exceptional contribution to advancing research quality may apply or be nominated.
Early Career Award (€100,000): Early career researchers and small teams are encouraged to apply with bold, innovative projects that advance transparency, robustness, and integrity in research.

PhD Scholarships at Stockholm University, Sweden
PhD student in Computer and Systems Sciences, with focus on Data Science - Department of Computer Science. The project will focus on advanced data mining and machine learning methods for extracting insights from large-scale, complex, and often heterogeneous multimodal data, with a particular emphasis on temporal and time-dependent data. Carl Menger Fellowship 2026-2027 for doctoral students,
A one-year online program for doctoral students from any university and discipline who are interested in political economy. The total award up to $2,250 includes a stipend and all required readings. In order to apply fro the fellowship one must be enrolled in a Phd prgoram.
The Carl Menger Fellowship is a one-year, competitive, and online fellowship program awarded to PhD students of any discipline, including but not limited to economics, philosophy, political science, and sociology. The aim of these fellowships is to introduce students to and encourage them to critically engage key thinkers in political economy that they might not otherwise encounter during their graduate studies.

Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program
The JJ/WBGSP is open to citizens of certain developing countries with relevant professional experience and a history of supporting their countries’ development efforts who are applying to a master's degree program in a development-related topic. Subject to available funding, JJ/WBGSP offers scholarships for 44 Participating Master’s Programs in 24 universities in the U.S., Europe, Africa, Oceania and Japan in key areas of development, including economic policy management, tax policy, and infrastructure management.
